Who is Grundy County Hereos & Helpers?
Grundy County Heroes & Helpers Inc (hereafter known as GCHH) is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization that consist of First Responders, their families, and community volunteers who dedicate their time to help less fortunate children in Grundy County, Illinois. All funds raised during the year go towards the annual "Shop with a Local Hero" event in December.
At this one day event, children are partnered with local first responder heroes and shop for necessities such as coats, hats, gloves, boots, shoes, and clothes. After shopping, the children get to share a meal with Santa and their special heroes while also taking an opportunity to shop for toys in Santa's toy shop.
GCHH is funded by public donations, grants, and funds raised during fundraiser events. Our main focus is to help children and families during periods of loss, trauma, and hardships.
